FAQ

Are there lunch facilities at the Museum?
No. There are no lunch facilities on the property. There are many restaurants within walking distance of the Museum. You may eat sack lunches on the Capitol building grounds 3 blocks west of the Museum, or at Civic Center Park, 5 blocks west of the Museum.

Is the Museum handicapped accessible?
No. The Museum itself is not handicapped accessible due to the historic nature of the home. There are many stairs leading to the front door. Once inside, there is a staircase leading to the second floor that is wide and navigable for most people using canes or crutches. The back staircase leading from the second floor to the first floor kitchen is very steep and narrow, but alternate arrangements to use the front stairs may be made with your guide if these are a problem.

Can I bring more than 60 students to the museum?
Yes. By staggering bus departure times from your school we can accommodate larger volumes of students at the museum on a given day. We can also attempt to schedule around tours of other local attractions.
